Singer Song Writers of Room 8

Room 8 have been exploring ideas about music and songs.  They are learning how songs are stories, poems, messages, recounts of history, a means of healing, a voice and a method of expression. 

During Term One, students have explored the ideas behind some songs and how they have reflected the time and place of their creation.  Who wrote the song? Why were the songs written?  What was the era?  What messages were presented in the song?  How has the writer gone about structuring their song: metaphors, rhymes, adjectives etc

After learning about a song, students wrote their own words to the studied melody.  Check out our songs in our blog feed and give Room 8 some feed back.  We would love to hear your thoughts.
